Psalm 28.6-9, Genesis 24.1-31, Mark 7.24-37 - Lectionary for 3/24/11

Today's readings are Psalm 28.6-9, Genesis 24.1-31, and Mark 7.24-37.

We see God's provision today in his arranging the circumstances around finding a wife for Isaac, bringing healing to a Gentile woman, and healing a deaf man with a speech impediment. This sovereign mercy and love of God is summed up by our reading in Psalm 28. Surely God has heard our cries. He is our strength. He is the one whom we trust. He is our refuge. He is our shepherd.

No matter the difficulties we face, we have abundant examples of God's care for his people, lovingly doing that which is impossible to accomplish his good pleasure.
